What the free build gives you, stated plainly
Free here means the two parts that decide how she sounds, not a demo that stops before she says anything.
You can build an AI girlfriend free and hold a real conversation on the same visit. Voice and manner are the two parts that carry the personality, and both are on the free sheet: pick how she talks, pick how fast and how forward she is, assemble, and the thread opens. No card is requested at any point in that sequence.
The honest limit is the other two parts. Memory — what she carries from one visit to the next — and the deeper limits sheet sit behind the optional upgrade, so a free build starts each session on a clean page. For a lot of people that is fine for a week or two; for anyone who wants continuity, it is the one thing worth paying for and we would rather say so here than in a modal later.
Nothing about the free build is time-limited or trial-shaped. It does not expire after seven days, and refitting the two free parts as often as you like costs the same nothing it did the first time.

The difference shows up on the third visit, when you refer back to something and she does not have it — that is the missing memory part, and it is the moment most people decide either that they are fine without it or that they want it.
There is no penalty for waiting. A free sheet upgraded a fortnight later keeps the voice and manner you fitted, so the parts you already got right stay exactly as they were and only the pending rows change.
